Edinburgh Trams and Lothian Buses are separate companies, but you can buy combined tickets via the Ticket Machines at tram stops, or through the Edinburgh Travel app.
Purchase a DAYticket for unlimited travel within the city on Edinburgh Trams and Lothian Buses for £5.50, or go contactless for £5.00.
Ridacards can be purchased from a Travel Hub.
Transport to and from the airport costs more than city centre travel, and an open return ticket can be purchased on the Airport Bus (£8) and Tram (£9.50).

Buses
Lothian Buses provides the public transport bus services within Edinburgh.
- Pay with Contactless on the bus (£2.20 per journey) and your fare will be capped at £5.00 per day
- Cash payment is also accepted, but you must have the correct fare (£2.20) and change will not be given.
Trams
- You must purchase your ticket before boarding the tram. Tickets can be purchased at a ticket machine found at all stops.
- Payment can be made by card or coins, notes are not accepted.

Taxis
There are many taxi companies in Edinburgh, as well as Uber.
Private hire cabs must be booked through their app or by phoning, but the famous black City Cabs can be “waved down” in the street. You’ll also find taxi ranks around the city.

You can walk, bus or take a taxi from Pollock Halls accommodation to the King’s Buildings campus.
