Transport

Edinburgh Trams and Lothian Buses are separate companies, but you can buy combined tickets via the Ticket Machines at tram stops, or through the Edinburgh Travel app.

Purchase a DAYticket for unlimited travel within the city on Edinburgh Trams and Lothian Buses for £5.50, or go contactless for £5.00.

Ridacards can be purchased from a Travel Hub.

Transport to and from the airport costs more than city centre travel, and an open return ticket can be purchased on the Airport Bus (£8) and Tram (£9.50).

Taxis

There are many taxi companies in Edinburgh, as well as Uber.

Private hire cabs must be booked through their app or by phoning, but the famous black City Cabs can be “waved down” in the street. You’ll also find taxi ranks around the city.
