Nicholas Apokerah

Nicholas Apokerah is a seasoned development practitioner and Fair Trade advocate with over two decades of experience advancing grassroots economic empowerment and global ethical trade. As Founder and Executive Director of TradeAID Integrated in Ghana, Nicholas has pioneered initiatives that empower rural artisans and smallholder producers—especially women and youth—through improved market access, ethical production standards, and capacity-building programs. Under his leadership, Bolgatanga became Ghana’s second Fair Trade Town and launched the Bolgatanga International Craft and Arts Festival (BICAF). Active in international networks like WFTO and Fairtrade Africa, Nicholas champions equitable trade policies and sustainable development. Nicholas holds academic qualifications in Economics, Education, Business Management, Development Policies and Practices and is currently leading efforts to scale up the work of TradeAID Integrated and ethical supply chains and social enterprises across Ghana.
